Meet Dr. Brian Rethman

Dr. Brian Rethman is a highly accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery—an achievement that reflects his commitment to the highest standards in patient care and surgical excellence. With a strong academic foundation, Dr. Rethman began his journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in biology, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Louisville, where he distinguished himself both academically and clinically.

Upon completing dental school, Dr. Rethman pursued advanced training in general dentistry through an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Ft. Benning in Columbus, Georgia. He went on to complete a rigorous Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the prestigious San Antonio Military Medical Center, one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Driven by a passion for complex surgical care, he continued his education with a highly specialized fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery, equipping him with the skills to manage advanced surgical cases, including facial trauma, oral cancers, and complex reconstructions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rethman has remained actively involved in professional organizations that promote the advancement of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is a proud member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and maintains board certification through the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), a distinction that underscores his dedication to ongoing education, clinical excellence, and patient safety.
